Approach

As a graduate of Naropa University and a committed client of my own therapy, I value the path of devoting to one’s inner experience. The process of coming home to oneself can be tender, and I hold this work with care.  Within the therapeutic relationship, core beliefs can be explored and refined. Through attuned listening, I assist clients in making conscious the unconscious material of their psyches and lives. Our work will honor your instincts and strengthen your self trust. You can bring your humor, your desperation, your boredom, your wildness, your dread, or your joy.

I use an integrative and client-centered approach, which allows the work to take different shapes depending on what content arises. My work is based within the talk therapy model, allowing you to find power in the articulation of your experience. Below are some of the modalities that I incorporate to support you in unpacking and exploring your lived experience.

MINDFULNESS-BASED & BODY-CENTERED

Tracking one’s felt experience is a practice that can inspire clearer seeing, which can be especially helpful when navigating discomfort. As a lifelong embodiment student and teacher, I am passionate about the information we can access in the body. I also believe the body reveals in its own timing, and I work with a trauma-informed lens. We work together to attune to the intelligence of the animal body and the nervous system, which drive behavior and communicate constantly.

GESTALT

Gestalt therapy interventions allow individuals to get to know and consciously interact with the many parts of the self that are housed within. Integration is the process of finding healthy ways for these parts to work together in one’s system. This work is experiential and dynamic, and can be supportive while working with complex and nuanced content.

Nature-based

Remembering one’s innate wildness can be relieving and fortifying. I trust the relationship we each hold with the natural world as a resource for healing. When appropriate, one’s relationship with nature can be used in the therapeutic process. My sessions are mostly located in my office. When it’s called for, nature-based work can take us out to explore.

A Deeper Look

I also work within the theoretical approach that our earliest attachment figures and experiences influence how we relate to ourselves and others today. Being a part of a family and developing into a whole independent human is complex. While the work can stay rooted in your present felt experience, it also offers the opportunity to track back to earlier experiences to seek understanding. By carefully exploring these imprints with support, individuals can then have more choice to repair and possibly shift the patterns that show up in relationships today. I also bring an understanding of intergenerational impact. Through my Transpersonal training, the soul and spirit also have a place to be seen. My intention is to hold these many layers in my awareness and simultaneously meet you where you are now.

Please note I am not a crisis counselor.
